Well, not true for me because I am heading to SuperZoo on Monday and the plan is to find awesome new products for the store. SuperZoo is the largest gathering of pet professionals in North America with more than 1,000 exhibitors, over 850 debut products to explore, and dozens of educational seminars.
What am I looking for exactly? My biggest focus will be the CBD manufacturers and there are over 30 of them attending. The Canadian Hemp Trade Alliance and the Canadian Health Food Association have recently called for improvements to Canadian regulations that currently treat all phytocannabinoids as drugs. If you are interested, Google ”A Call for Smart Regulation of CBD” to find the white paper that was sent to Health Canada asking the agency to list CBD as a natural health product, and therefore making it more easily accessible. My hopes are that I will discover many great CBD manufacturers in Vegas and get my foot in the door so that when Canada smartens up and CBD becomes a common staple, PennyPetz can offer its clients many healthful options. It is my belief that CBD is (dare I say) miraculous! And I am not alone, industry experts expect sales of CDB products to reach 20 billion dollars by 2022.
Besides CBD, I will be looking for durable toys, glass pet dishes, innovative harnesses, pet trackers, and more. I am also scheduled to attend educational seminars including one that is being presented by Dr. Karen Becker. How exciting is that? And next year I hope to head to Nuremberg, Germany for the Interzoo. This show runs every two years and hosts almost 2,000 exhibitors from 60+ countries. How interesting will it be to see all the cool pet products from around the world!
